One wonders what kind of “pressure” was put on Marwan Barghouti to withdraw from what was supposed to be a free and fair presidential election.

Mustafa Barghouthi was beaten by Israeli soldiers near Jenin, as were people in his group (some of whom were hit with rifle butts and made to lie motionless on the floor for an hour).

Marwan Barghouti is currently serving 5 consecutive life sentences – one for each Israeli person for whose death he was supposedly responsible. The trial was a sham.

Abbas has agreed with Sharon that Palestinian media is the real cause of Palestinian violence and that the media (not the actions of the Israeli army) is guilty of incitement against Israel.
